By now you'd have begrudgingly made your choice from the options available: either apply for a 'new' job in the 'new' structure or put in an expression of interest for a partial or full voluntary redundancy as proposed by your CEO at Montagu Community Living.
We’re appalled to hear that Montagu are forcing you to apply externally online via Seek and compete with external applicants if you do want to stay. No one could blame you for feeling upset and let down. This is just downright disappointing and callous behaviour from them – and a real slap in the face for every loyal and long-serving worker. If you want to talk about adding insult to injury, Montagu could be the poster child.
Whilst your employer is saying that you will still have a job in the 'new' structure, we are yet to see what the 'new' jobs look like, what your 'new' contracted hours will look like or what your 'new' job classification that will determine your pay rate will be.
There is still a bit of work to be done as this plays out and HACSU will be doing all we can to support you through this emotional and financially uncertain time in your career.
Keep an eye on your emails for more updates from us as things develop.
In the meantime, if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us via HACSUassist at email@example.com or 1300 880 032.
Remember, the more union members in your workplace, the stronger our voice will be – so if your colleagues aren’t yet members, now is a great time to encourage them to join the HACSU family.
