So-called 'restructure' is unfair for many staff.

HACSU'S Robbie Moore and Tammy Munro attended a meeting with the CEO Russell Penman and it is not good news for many staff.

While there may be merit in what Montagu want to do, the way they're proposing to do the restructure is unfair to many current staff, so we asked, very reasonably, for Montagu to commit that no staff member would be worse off.

They refused and are adamant some staff could be made redundant.

They could easily make that commitment and a first step would be for them to agree to only offer positions to existing employees, but they refused despite it being a very fair request to ensure all staff have a future with Montagu.

Montagu seem determined to spill and fill all roles and they gave no real justification for this.

They said they're meeting with staff over the next couple of days, so we'll then be calling members to get their thoughts on what's proposed.

We're determined to fight for a fair process and outcome that ensures members' rights are protected and that clients receive the support they deserve from staff they know and trust.

If members get a call from us we encourage them to have a chat to discuss where we go to from here, and they can also call us at HACSUassist on 1300 880 032 to discuss this situation.

For more information about this or any other industrial matter, members should contact HACSUassist on 1300 880 032 or email assist@hacsu.org.au or complete our online contact form
