Millions in wages go missing at SCC

From bad to worse.

Things are going from bad to worse at Southern CrossCare.

First, they wanted to cut thousands of dollars from your take-home pay at the bargaining table, then they admitted they've underpaid you millions - they claim it's “about $6 million” - and didn’t tell you about it for almost two years until we uncovered July’s wage theft and how deep the rot really went.

Now they won’t tell you exactly who has lost wages, when they will be repaid, and how much it will be.

Apparently you shouldn't worry as, despite the threats and the cuts, they’ve got the “reserves” to cover it.

This not acceptable, and the board should immediately intervene and make the CEO accountable for this latest fiasco.

They can’t keep hurting workers and residents and pretending it's someone else’s problem.

We’ve been concerned with SCC management for a long time, in fact HACSU delegates at their recent conference passed a resolution condemning SCC and urging them to do the right thing:

“If Southern Cross Care refuses to [value their workers], this conference calls on the Board to intervene and replace the CEO in order to protect workers and residents alike.”

Keep an eye out for a text message update soon and give us a call if you have any questions in the meantime.
