It’s easy for other members to feel their vital work’s been overlooked, but HACSU and the broader community do notice and appreciate the role of workers in mental health and child services - their professions can be challenging at the best of times, and to maintain such high standards throughout a time of deep uncertainty is truly commendable.
Workplace issues they've been experiencing haven’t been on the front-page but we’ve been working behind the scenes to protect and improve their working conditions and safety.
While pandemic restrictions have made visits difficult, HACSU delegates have done a great job updating us on any changes and issues within workplaces, and a good delegate is so valuable to their colleagues and the workplace, but having more than one to help spread the workload doubles the chances of successful outcomes.
Delegates know contributing to improving their workplace now and into the future can be extremely rewarding, so if any member likes the sound of this and wants to be a HACSU workplace delegate, please let us know.
With regulations changing on a daily basis it’s only a matter of time before we'll be onsite again, but in the interim please direct any questions to HACSUassist on 1300 880 032 or keep your eye on the regularly updated HACSU website and facebook page.
