You would have received a message from the secretary about the stop work actions planned for Wednesday.
The message says your pay might be docked, you have to take leave, and you should not cancel any patient or client appointment to attend.
You have every right to attend the stop work action.
We never want to affect Tasmanians trying to access services, but there won’t be any services left if we don’t stand up and demand better right now. Most community members understand and are on our side. We know you’ll work with your team to ensure that there’ll be contingencies to cover the real important stuff.
You can take leave or TOIL or flextime, but that is your choice. No one can force you to take your leave.
Your employer could dock your pay, but they’d have to prove a number of things first and they’d have to ask you to respond.
You should talk to your manager if you can and tell them you’re going to the action nearest you. It’s up to the employer to take steps to do anything about your attendance.
You can rest assured knowing that we’ll support you through whatever comes our way.
