Community MHS action and resilience.

The recent Resilience Report about the state of Statewide Mental Health Services unsurprisingly doesn’t paint too pretty a picture and reflects what we already know about the reality on the ground.

This brings us to our recent action in community MHS about untriaged referrals and the continued impact of an understaffed service on those who need it most.

The action has certainly got some attention, both in the public and within the government.

We’ve been in negotiations and we’re hopeful this will translate into some material change in staffing soon. In particular, we want to see additional resources on the ground in Emergency in the north and north-west to deal with one of the clearest pinch-points.

But we're not waiting around and will be taking further action next week in the event negotiations don’t yield real results.
