You may have seen some recent action taking place in the Community Mental Health services in the north and north-west.
This action is focused on ensuring clinicians can see clients who most need care.
This has happened partly because no Statewide Mental Health Services staff are based within Emergency Departments, so Community Mental Health teams are left to deal with issues rather than PENs or other mental health specialists.
We are hopeful that this action will not only help mental health services in the community but translate into more mental health services boots on the ground in Emergency.
Keep an eye out for more as our negotiations progress.
