Menarock's offer for nurses has gotten worse

Menarock were offering a modest 2.5% wage increase, but they have back-pedalled on that.

Menarock are now only offering a 1.8% increase in the first year and the Fair Work increase in the second and third years.

They still plan on making more changes to reduce entitlements, including:

  • Removing stat decs
  • Changing the consultation clause
  • No penalty for making roster changes without notice
  • Making it harder to dispute workplace matters
  • Reduction in personal leave if you are a new employee
  • Removal of union delegates rights

And worst of all, they want to strip away the redundancy clause to a bare minimum.

Right now, Menarock employees have one of the best redundancy clauses that we've because they receive 2 weeks’ pay for each completed year of service. Menarock want to scrap that and get rid of voluntary redundancies and redeployment.

You would have to be crazy to take this offer – with the massive reduction to the redundancy clause and the pitiful wage increase, you would have to say NO!

We have another meeting with Menarock on Friday and need feedback, so we will be calling members in the coming week to chat about this.
