Not allowed to carry your phone on shifts?

We’ve learned that you're not allowed to carry your phone when working on the floor, which may put you at a disadvantage when you need that phone to respond to an additional shift you want to pick up.

This is what we wrote to management on your behalf:

“I understand that there would be a policy around mobile phones and agree in principle that mobiles should not be taken onto the floor as the phone can be checked at break time. But the issue that has been raised is that if a member is on shift, they will not have the opportunity to pick up an additional shift when advertised through a text.

HACSU believe it is unfair for the staff working and ask what other options you are offering to those who are not able to access their phone to make it fair?”

Let’s see what options they can come up with and we’ll keep you posted. If you have more questions, contact HACSUassist on 1300 880 032 or assist@hacsu.org.au
