False declaration memo

We’ve written to Menarock asking them to retract the memo you received on 6 January that threatens disciplinary action, including instant dismissal and/or civil action, if staff make a false declaration about being at a known COVID exposure site.

The Department of Health has ceased publicising exposure sites so, as the COVID situation escalates, it's impossible to know if you’ve been at an exposure site.

It's of significant concern and completely unacceptable to us that Menarock are threatening workers with this type of action when you have kept residents, their families, and your co-workers safe throughout the pandemic.

We’ll let you know once we have an update on this. In the meantime, if you want to talk about this or any other issues at your workplace, please call HACSUassist on 1300 880 032.

For more information about this or any other industrial matter, members should contact HACSUassist on 1300 880 032 or email assist@hacsu.org.au or complete our online contact form
