HACSU members at Melaleuca say "no" to cuts to paid meal breaks.

After a lot of back and forth at the bargaining table, management finally put both the nurses and general staff agreements out to vote.

The results show very clearly that management’s won't get away with cutting paid meal breaks and workers are not going to accept it.

For the nurses agreement, out of 11 votes, 5 voted yes and 6 voted no.

For the general staff agreement, out of the 48 staff that voted, 9 voted yes while a whopping 39 voted no.

Congratulations! By staying united you’ve shown to Melaleuca that they can’t simply take away your paid meal breaks.

We'll be visiting Melaleuca next week, so you can keep an eye out for us to talk about where to from here.
