Further feedback on 12 hour shifts

You would have seen our bulletin last week seeking your feedback on workers being required to work 12 hour shifts as part of Meercroft’s proposed COVID-19 plan.

We've since been contacted by Meercroft’s representative advising:

"Please rest assured that the intention of Meercroft is not to require a 12 hour working shift under the Covid Plan without consultation with employees. We apologise for the confusion and please rest assured that Meercroft will of course consult with staff should any changes be made to rostering under the Covid Plan; or generally.
Putting aside the legal obligation for consultation under the legislation and the Enterprise Agreement, Meercroft takes pride in communicating with employees and being open and transparent at all times. The email was simply erroneously worded and we again apologise for the incorrect impression that it gave.

If 12 hour shifts are proposed down the track please contact HACSUassist so we can look into it and advise you accordingly.
