Bargaining update

We met with Medea Park management to discuss the latest offer for your enterprise bargaining agreement and we're pleased to say it contains some improvements on previous ones:

Wages: General Employees - 2% back paid to the first pay period after July 1 2021.

Paternity leave: 2 weeks to be paid in the payroll period following the employee taking leave for the birth of the child.

Parental leave: 2 weeks paid during the fortnight’s payroll at the time of the employee taking leave for the birth of the child, 2 weeks will then be paid in the following fortnight’s payroll, so 4 in total, plus an additional 3 weeks to be paid on or after the first full payroll period following the employee’s return to work.

Workload clause: The employer is committed to ensuring staffing levels are appropriate to deliver the level of care required by the accreditation principles. Where staff feel workloads are excessive or lacking on a consistent basis, they should report this in writing to their direct manager. If no appropriate action is taken staff should raise the issue with the CEO. Minutes must be taken by the manager or CEO of any workload complaints and a written response provided to the employee within 14 business days. Should further investigation be required the manager or CEO must provide a timeline to the employee and update them on a fortnightly basis in relation to the matter.

Daylight savings clause: Changes to ensure payment for hours actually worked.

Travel allowance: Increased to 80c per kilometre.

Pandemic clause: To be included in line with the award clause.
