They're well underway

Redevelopment of the Mersey theatre and day surgery unit are well underway, and a committee was formed to ensure transparent communication lines between the decision makers and those who work in the area.

This committee meets monthly to discuss all aspects of the build and is comprised of THS management, unit managers and HACSU representatives.

Staff who perform the role daily are best placed to know what’s needed to get maximum results so we asked Tammy Richards and Alison McKenzie to be your voice on the committee, and their input into the management structure has already helped achieve an increase of 3 FTE to ensure a decision maker will be there when you need them.

The committee has formed 3 internal working groups to help construct statements of duties for the higher-level roles within their relevant area and, once done, these SoDs will go to job design for final approval.

Management rarely admits workers on the ground are the most knowledgeable as they have on this occasion, let alone ask them to help with such pivotal decision making, so this highlights the excellent job your delegates are doing- if they come to you for your input, please help them help you.

We’ll update you as developments occur but if you have any suggestions or questions about the redevelopment, be sure to talk to your delegates or call us at HACSUassist on 1300 880 032.
