Continued focus on Masonic’s underpayments.

We met with Masonic again today mainly to discuss the method and calculations regarding HACSU’s backpay claim resulting from pay increases for 2017 and 2018.

We were given calculations used for sample employees in the south and the north and it seems the percentages applied were correct, but check your own figures and if something seems wrong then let us know - a back-pay amount will be paid to you in the next pay cycle on 18 November.

You’ll recall a problem where allowances also weren’t increased in line with the requirements of the staff agreement, and Masonic have agreed to remedy this after back-pay has been made.

There is also an issue with home carers at Level 3 not progressing from Level3.1 and 3.2 and, again, once back-pay is sorted and correct wage rates identified and agreed upon this back-pay matter will be attended to.

Masonic want to have all wages back-pay reconciled and paid by the end of the year.

Once we know where we sit with wages as they’re currently paid we’ll have a basis for negotiating future wage increases and, given how long it’s taken to resolve these important issues, we’ll be pushing for a timely resolution of new agreements so you can vote on them as soon as possible.
