We’re in dispute over ED staffing.

HACSU has formally lodged a dispute with THS over their plans to reduce Support Officer and Hospital Aide staffing levels in the Emergency Department - because they hadn’t complied with the award, and hadn’t addressed the issue properly after we met with management, it was time to escalate to a dispute.

While there are a variety of breaches we are pointing to, the focus is around work health and safety and workload issues that will be created by the planned changes.

A key part of the dispute is that no further changes should happen during the dispute process, so members should inform us immediately if this isn't the case.

If THS won’t come to the party then we may need to look at other options, so it’s important we have as many people on board now as possible - there is power in numbers so now is the time for any non-members to join their colleagues in the fight.
