HACSU has spoken to the Nurse Unit Manager Fiona De Sousa of the LGH infection control team to clear up questions about COVID-19 cleaning processes.

Fiona assured us that the LGH has policies and procedures in place for dealing with particular cleans associated with COVID-19 to minimise risks for both staff and patients, and we can now confirm the following:

- If a member of the public has been self-isolating within the community and presents with no flu-like symptoms or high temperature, standard precautions apply.

- If a member of the public has been self-isolating within the community and presents with flu-like symptoms or high temperature, standard droplet precautions apply.

- If a member of the public presents with flu-like symptoms or high temperature and is suspected to have contracted the COVID-19 virus, a COVID-19 clean should be conducted wearing full PPE.

We know this is a stressful time for everyone working at the LGH, and if you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to call HACSUassist on 1300 880 032 from 8am to 8pm.

We hope you're safe and well, and we look forward to hearing from you.
