Many workers in disability and community services don’t get to take long service leave because they can’t work for the same employer long enough to qualify. When workers move between employers, they often lose access to the long service leave they’ve built up and must start again from scratch, thus being penalised for simply trying to further their career or feed their family. A portable long service leave scheme is the solution, and we’re fighting for one for Tasmania disability and community workers.

We’re joining Boosting the Local Care Workforce Program to invite you to a webinar (including time for Q&A) on Portable Long Service Leave for the care and support sector in Tasmania.

You will hear from the ACT Long Service Leave Authority about how the scheme operates in the ACT, including levy payment arrangements, eligibility and coverage, benefit accruals, statistical information on scheme growth, benefit payment numbers and more.

You will also hear a speaker from TasBuild’s Portable Long Service Leave scheme.

There will be ample time for questions after the presentations.

Here are the details for the webinar:

  • When: 10-11.30am, Thursday 3 March
  • Where: Via Microsoft Teams (you can join the webinar on your computer or mobile app)

We’re looking forward to seeing you there!
