You may have been asked by Leap to provide certain information they may use as part of their COVID plan in case of an outbreak in the workplace. Management may ask if you work across several organisations and if you have any pre-existing medical conditions that may place your health at risk if you’re exposed to COVID at work.
Do you have to answer these questions?
As to the question of whether you work across multiple sites, the Public Health Department has requested this information from employers, so it’s okay to let your employer know and there should be no restrictions for working two or more jobs at this stage – if there is then please let us know.
As for pre-existing health issues, you can give this information so that they can provide you with extra protection if there’s COVID in your workplace. But we recommend you only declare health issues that are relevant to COVID management, such as a breathing issue or diabetes. If you have a mental health issue or an old hip injury, you don’t need to declare it because these conditions don’t need extra protection against COVID, and we don’t want management to possibly use this info against you in any way.
If you are unsure about what to declare or have any concerns, please give HACSUassist a call for advice.
