We'll have no choice but to escalate action

We met on Friday and discussed a plan to tackle the crisis facing you in Radiation Therapy.

Afterwards we held a meeting with the government where we put the plan for a retention allowance on the table and told negotiators that if they don’t make a reasonable offer to you within the next fortnight, we’ll have no choice but to escalate industrial action.

The extraordinary competition for radiation professionals, the below par salary levels in Tasmania, an empty graduate pool, and the fact we have vacant positions that cannot be filled must be addressed if we want to see sustainable radiation therapy services maintained here.

The last thing health professionals want to do is fight with the Department about their value but if that’s what it takes to get the message through, you’ve made it clear that together we’ll say it’s time.

We’re having a further membership discussion on Teams this Friday 10 March at 4pm - you should've received a link in your emails.
