HRC has decided to put the proposed non-nursing staff agreement out once again and not a lot's changed - if this sounds familiar it’s because we’ve written it before! - and members will be able to vote on it starting at 9am on Monday, 1 June and closing at 3pm Friday, 5 June.
Management have refused to make changes to the redundancy clause and removed the commitment to consult, redeployment and retraining, 4 weeks’ notice of a redundancy, voluntary and partial redundancies, and the dispute clause has been changed to suit the employer by making a complicated web of actions designed to frustrate workers being able to resolve disputes through the Fair Work Commission.
HRC don’t care that they’re stripping away the redundancy conditions staff have had for many years and it really shows the lack of respect for their employees, and if it was our staff agreement, we'd absolutely vote 'No'!
It’s vital that members talk to their co-workers and let them know what’s happening - HRC staff deserve to be treated better, and the way to show this is with a 'No' vote.
