No formal proposal to consider

You would have received an email yesterday from the Deputy Secretary explaining to you how a number of CSIH functions will be transitioned, to where and when this will supposedly occur. While it’s great that you are being provided with some information, it’s equally concerning that no one has had the opportunity to give feedback on a formal change proposal.

The machinery of government changes may well not require consultation, but the flow-on changes to employees most certainly do. You deserve to have your say on how the change affects you and the service you work in before any decision is made. It’s clear how backwards all this is on that front.

We’ll be asking the transition team to ensure CSIH leadership participates in the broader change discussions, and we’ll keep fighting for answers about what is quickly becoming an almighty dog’s breakfast. We’ll be having DCT membership meetings in the next fortnight, so please keep your eye out for details and get involved.
