We’ve today been told the Minister has briefed the Deputy Secretary to continue with the reorganisation, so the consultation interrupted by the state election will restart soon.
Feedback around redeployment, workload, culture issues and external consultants has been given to Communities Tasmania and they’ve provided some responses.
DCT told us the reorganisation is designed to address some of the cultural issues, albeit that they are difficult to define.
As for workload, particularly in tenancy services, DCT said they’ll make a factsheet with details around the changes to roles and duties, but we’re still concerned about resourcing and workload issues.
There’ll be more detail by the end of next week about the external service provider too, and this will be in place before any recruitment processes begin.
You can forward any concerns to the confidential email address at hdcs.reorganisation@communities.tas.gov.au and this can be done anonymously too but be sure to send your concerns to us too.
Meetings with workers to provide info and updates will recommence in the last week of June and we’ll also be out and about.
