Healthscope's new offer to nurses

We're sceptical

Healthscope have put out a new offer and it goes like this:
A proposed sign-on-payment of $1250 that would only be paid on achieving a yes vote for your new agreement and is dependent on your union supporting a yes vote!
For the average employee this bonus would actually be about $560 as it would be pro-rata, and it wouldn’t be paid until the agreement is approved by the Fair Work Commission, which looks to be March 2022 at the earliest.
The agreement appears to support employing AINs, but what it still doesn’t say is how many nor which wards they’d be used on, and we’re doubtful at best about trusting them to employ AINs to deal with workload.
Why are we sceptical? Well, one example is that we now understand a single AIN is about to work night shifts deployable hospital-wide as directed by the 3A,while at the same time Healthscope has removed the hospital night-time orderly without any consultation.
Changes to the roster clause, casual conversion, parental leave and workload management are still the same as was proposed in July 2021.
The pay rise with effect 1 Jan 2021 has been removed, and the new pay offer is:

  • 2% effective 1 July 2021
  • 2% effective 1 Jan 2022
  • 2.25% effective 1 Jan 2023
  • 2.25% effective 1 Jan 2024

We want to know your view, so please participate in the membership meetings later this week.
