GL is no bed of roses.

We’ve now received a response to the issues we raised on members' behalf, but it was just more words that had no practical solution to any of the concerns, so we’ve written once again and asked for answers with specific details.

We note in a memo dated 19 November that SCC state that ‘people are the heart of what we do at SCC’ - well it’s about time they showed they meant it with more actions and less words.

The time has come for SCC management to do a thorough investigation into what’s going on at Glenara Lakes given the number of quality staff members who’ve already left, have given notice or are contemplating leaving.

We now we find out the Facility Manager Louise Scambler has also left - making that something like 8 managers in the past 10 years.

HACSU would like to sit down and work with SCC management to rectify what’s going on at the facility.

From a workplace health and safety perspective, we also formally articulated our position that Glenara Lakes is psychologically unsafe for workers impacted by this conduct and there’s a real and present risk to our members that SCC is failing to address.

Our members are all legends and they and their residents deserve better, but by standing together we can resolve your workplace issues, so now really is the time for non-members to sign up.

Stay tuned, We'll continue to keep members updated.
