Freemasons short staffing

It must be fixed.

We know you’ve been working short staffed for many months, and we raised this with your facility manager before Christmas and with the CEO of MCT in February but they’ve done nothing to fix it.

Members told us recently that it’s continuing and impacting on you and the residents that you care for.

Today we wrote to your CEO again (see the email below) to say that our only option is to lodge a complaint on behalf of all HACSU members at Freemasons with the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission:

“Since my last correspondence dated 9 February 2021 to which you responded to on 16 February 2021, members have informed HACSU that the situation regarding short staffing has not improved and have again completed short staffing/work overload HACSU forms. Members are at their wits end as short staffing has been ongoing since November 2020.

Members are disappointed that short staffing is continuing on a regular basis which is having an impact on themselves and the residents at Freemasons.

HACSU believes that our only option now is to make a complaint to the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission on behalf of our members.

HACSU’s intention is to lodge the complaint COB on 16 April but, would like to give you the opportunity to meet with myself and HACSU delegate prior to lodging.”
