Disability Workers Week wrap-up & prize draw.

We decided to launch Disability Workers Week this year to recognise the essential work you do.

You've been overlooked far too often compared to other frontline workers like doctors, nurses and paramedics – and while the pandemic has brought a lot of attention to hospitals and aged care, disability workers deserve to be in the spotlight too - so over Disability Workers Week, you were.

Thanks to everyone who chatted to us at work, came along to a barbecue, stopped by for a drink, or stood on the roadside early in the morning waving signs and winning honks of support from the community.

We all had an incredible week visiting disability workers like you around the state and spending time in the community highlighting how important your work is.

We held the draw for our major prizes of $600, $300 and $150 in Coles or Woolies gift cards yesterday and we’re proud to congratulate our winners:

  • First Prize $600 - Hasanjeet K from Nexus
  • Second Prize $300 - Nicky F from LEAP
  • Third Prize $150 - Chrissy G from Able

Thanks again to everyone who got involved over the week. We’re proud to be your union, and we'll always fight for you and for the disability services sector.

If you ever need anything, just give us a call on 1300 880 032.
