Their direct response was no

Your Dental Officer Sub-branch Executive members and HACSU met with government representatives on Friday and again today to discuss your wages and conditions claim.

The government rejected most of your claims on Friday, and those they are willing to discuss come with stings in the tail.

Today we again asked the government representatives if they were able or willing to open negotiations on our claims. Their direct response was no.

As you are aware, all public sector union members are taking industrial action on Wednesday to demand a better wages and conditions offer from the government. We are asking you to join us in protesting against the government, who are treating you with contempt and refusing to negotiate in good faith with us.

Rallies will start from 1.45pm on 9 November at these locations:

  • Hobart – Parliament Lawns
  • Launceston – Civic Square
  • Burnie – West Beach Foreshore
  • Devonport – Rooke Street Mall

We’ve made it clear today that we will not recommend the current offer to members as it falls extremely short of expectations and what we consider a reasonable outcome for you.

We will arrange a specific membership meeting over the next week to let you know the government’s position.

See you at the rally!
