Corumbene wage offer totally unacceptable

A poor response.

Corumbene's response to members' log of claims is disappointing to say the least - they're offering a 1.75% wage increase or the Fair Work increase, whichever is greater - and it's a sad indication of how little they value the hard work of their staff who are bending over backwards during this pandemic to keep residents safe.

They’ve also rejected:

  • Paid family violence leave
  • Night and afternoon shift allowance increases
  • Increase sunday penalty
  • Increased access to sick & compassionate leave

The Corumbene Agreement isn’t generous to start with, and in some cases wages are already below the legally allowed minimum wage for the classification, so we've written to them to ask for this significant error to be fixed ASAP.

We’ll call members next week to get their thoughts on the offer so we can report back to management.
