Where we're at with action and COVID payments

Industrial action:

Your executive has endorsed the following actions for ComCen staff (as discussed in membership meetings held last week). Effective from the morning shift on 1 December ComCen members will:

• Wear campaign material, which includes HACSU badges and t-shirts

• Not complete internal DS or TL shift reports

-In lieu of a shift report, you’re permitted to report only safety critical events via email to the Director of Operations for their further dissemination

-Emails will only contain a summary of SLRSs where an injury or threat to staff occurs

• Advise HACSU, via our email assist@hacsu.org.au of any staffing shortages that occur in the ComCen or any regional resource not available for dispatch

COVID payments:

The DOH and State Government are refusing to acknowledge that ComCen and other staff deserve the COVID payments for what we know was an extraordinary period of work. They’re still saying you’ve been overpaid, and they intend to recover the money. HACSU is advocating that you don’t owe them anything – in fact they underpaid you on the second payment!

If you’re contacted about paying money back, please reply:

“I do not intend to repay the COVID allowance, HACSU is representing me in this matter, please contact them directly via assist@hacsu.org.au to seek advice from my representative.”

If you have any feedback about this or any other issue, you can email us at assist@hacsu.org.au or call 1300 880 032.

For more information about this or any other industrial matter, members should contact HACSUassist on 1300 880 032 or email assist@hacsu.org.au or complete our online contact form
