None of that’s been forgotten and there’s a lot going on behind the scenes.
Originally we lodged a dispute with the Fair Work Commission about the bungled leave audit that was a mess from the start and, despite many attempts, Coastal Residential’s refusal to recognise you’d been disadvantaged by misrepresented leave balances.
After a conference call with the Fair Work Commissioner an understanding between both parties was reached in relation to sorting through several individual members’ leave to see if it could lead to an overall outcome for all members affected.
We offered to meet Coastal Residential in the middle to resolve the dispute but they won’t agree to do that, so we’re reinvigorating our original dispute with the Fair Work Commissioner as this matter must be finalised.
We’re also off to the Tasmanian Industrial Commission about the long service leave component of our dispute to protect you from Coastal Residential attempting to limit the long service leave you’re entitled to.
This matter has gone on long enough, and if Coastal Residential aren’t prepared to reach a settlement we’ll ask the two commissions to make determinations so you can get the much needed, and long overdue, certainty about your leave.
