We also expressed concern that some staff had heard about this from clients’ parents rather than management, and asked what further leave options would be available to staff and for any staff updates regarding JobKeeper.
The good news is Denise has responded with a clearer picture of what’s actually happening:
“Wyndarra is not closing its service for two weeks. We are following Covid 19 Government and NDIS advice to check with participants to identify their essential needs. In our NDIS program wehave given participants the option for a service and most clients have chosen to stay home and stay safe.
This has resulted in a reduction in staff hours for our WSS Service, all other programs continue Wyndarra have tried to keep all staff informed by email every step of the way. We have advised staff regarding Job Keeper and Job Seeker. Unfortunately we cannot offer JobKeeper until we know this is available to our organisation. It is unfortunate people were informed before reading their email as perhaps we were still discussing possibilities with participants. Certainly all request for leave by staff will be considered.”
Denise also said that if staff have any further concerns they should feel free to talk to her or the management team about them.
Stay in touch and stay safe.
