We've raised these questions with your employer and here are the General Manager's responses:
Why was the Manor kitchen closed and when will it reopen?
The area is not used for food preparation and residents no longer attend the dining room because of social distancing issue. Tray service is now provided.The decision is a temporary one to centralise meal service and monitor food hygiene. GM unable to confirm when the Manor kitchen will reopen but will keep you up to date. GM also advised that the main kitchen is large, with plenty of bench space and a number of sinks allowing for social distancing.
Is there increased cleaning of door handles, pin pads or buttons in lifts?
Strict environment cleaning and disinfection protocols are being followed as issued by the Australian National Health & Medical Research Council Guidelines. Additional cleaning is in place to ensure that frequently touched surfaces are cleaned and disinfected regularly. GM is personally overseeing that cleaning is being adhered to.
Can there be an extra staff member in the evening in The Court kitchen?
Unfortunately, no, but the shift times have been temporarily adjusted for one of the RAOs so that they can be on hand of an evening, and care staff have been directed to provide assistance as they are no longer needed to supervise in the dining room.
