We want SCC to agree to important changes.

There's a bit going on behind the scenes at Bupa and we're hopeful we can get Southern Cross Care to agree to some important changes for members.

In summary here are the big outstanding matters:

  • We want to make sure new contracts are compliant with the law and protect members' rights. There have been some important changes but there are still some things that members need fixed
  • We want members' pattern of work – the hours and days of work – locked in for workers' security and to make sure SCC are complying with their agreement
  • The move to Southern Cross Care, and what happens to workers' pay and conditions, is complicated and technical but it looks like SCC need to make a few changes so members aren’t left in the lurch in the future, so we’ve asked to meet with them face to face to sort these out

Today SCC have acknowledged the issues we’ve raised and said they will get back to us on our proposal to fix them by Monday at the latest.

In the meantime, anyone with specific concerns or questions should contact us.
