We want to dispel misconceptions about the discussions around the proposed 12 hour roster.
NO agreement for a 12 hour roster exists at this stage. There’s no ability or scope for the department to implement one without an agreement, and we’ll ballot our members once a draft agreement is finalised.
NO start date has been agreed to. We’ve said loud and clear we want a uniform shift loading for AM shifts and a greater but uniform loading for PM shifts, irrespective of start or finish times, to ensure consistency and mean no shifts are less favourable than others. This will also ensure any minor fluctuation in average hours is duly covered.
Once a draft agreement is finalised, we’ll ask you for your thoughts directly at meetings and through a survey.
If you’re a HACSU member and you have an issue with the proposal to work12-hour shifts, we want to hear from you as soon as possible.
If you’re a part time worker or already have an agreement around your hours of work, we want to hear from you as soon as possible.
