After your historic No vote, we hoped Uniting AgeWell might have got the message not to mess with your conditions – however it seems they may still be short-changing some staff.
If you have a paid break that means you’re working an 8 hour shift and accruing leave for the full 8 hours, but some are only accruing it for 7.5 hours with the 30 minute break paid as a ‘meal break allowance’. This means you don’t accrue any leave on the 30 minute break as you should, leaving you short on sick and annual leave every shift.
This is unacceptable, and we need to find out how many are being impacted so we can get to the bottom of it.
If your pay-slip shows you’re only getting paid for 7.5 hours work plus a meal break ‘allowance’ let us know as soon as possible by giving us a call.
