Hours reduction message.

Last week we got in touch after some members received an SMS about a reduction in hours, and we’ve since got to the bottom of it for those affected.

If one is received in the future the big thing to remember is that it shouldn’t be coming out of the blue, and the team leader or HR should have already worked through the matter with relevant staff earlier – if not, members need to tell them that before doing anything else.

Anglicare have said that SMS is a simpler way to get in touch with people rather than emails or calls from private numbers.

Members should only receive an SMS about new hours prior to the final contract being put together, and saying Yes or No via text does not replace having to sign a contract.

For more information about this or any other industrial matter, members should contact HACSUassist on 1300 880 032 or email assist@hacsu.org.au or complete our online contact form
