After one of the hardest fought wage campaigns in a long time, the public sector AHP agreement has been registered at the Tasmanian Industrial Commission.

The agreement provides for a range of benefits for workers, including:

  • Wages increases of 2.3% in December 2019 and December 2020, and 2.35% in December 2021.
  • Improvements in competency and accelerated progression.
  • Increase in night shift loading.
  • Increases in on call and availability allowances.
  • Increase to the professional development fund to $724 per year with the ability to accumulate the fund for 5 years.

You’re the first workers in Australia to knock off a government wages policy without changing the government and you should be really proud of that!

We know that more AHPs are needed in all sorts of services across the state and we know that you are working even harder than usual as we respond to the pandemic.

We’ll have some more info soon on how long back pay will take and we’ll get that out as soon as we know more.
