You voted down their insulting offer

AHPs across the state have overwhelmingly voted to reject the government’s unfair offer which continued to ignore reality and would’ve led to more AHPs leaving Tasmania.

The so-called offer gave very low increases to most AHPs and offered very few improved conditions. The government changed their offer during the voting period when they no doubt finally realised you weren’t buying their dud deal, but that backfired and only created more confusion.

While Victoria is delivering a fifth week of annual leave, of course you’re not going to accept a deal that would leave you having to beg your manager to shut down all services to get the Christmas to New Year grace days.

Your AHP Sub-branch will be meeting on Monday to talk about our next steps. We’ll also be demanding an urgent meeting with the government to discuss why you rejected this offer and go over what is needed to reach a deal that actually addresses recruitment and retention issues.

If the government keeps ignoring you, your AHP Sub-branch will discuss escalating industrial action.

We’ll keep you updated. If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact HACSUassist on 1300 880 032.
