AHPs across the state have overwhelmingly voted to reject the government’s offer which would’ve risked more AHPs leaving Tasmania.
Your colleagues that make up the HACSU Allied Health Sub-branch Executive unanimously endorsed the immediate recommencement of industrial action.
We must show how important these issues are so we can convince the government it’s now or never when it comes to addressing the ongoing recruitment and retention crisis that exists across health.
Commencing at 8am Thursday 22 December, the following actions are endorsed for HACSU allied health professionals:
• The display of union messaging and slogans in workplaces. This includes public buildings and vehicles and by way of email signature block.
• The distribution of union material to patients, clients, their families, and the community.
• Wearing union badged clothing during work time.
• Participation in media events including interviews concerning issues associated with negotiations.
We’ll be out and about including over the break to talk to any of you that are working and to make sure you know exactly what’s happening.
The HACSU Allied Health Sub-branch Executive have not ruled out escalating the industrial action if a solution to the current issues cannot be found.
We’ll keep you updated. If you have any questions, please contact HACSUassist on 1300 880 032 or via email at assist@hacsu.org.au
