Negotiation update.

Yesterday, we met with the State Service Management Office and officials from the various agencies to continue negotiations for your replacement agreement.

The discussions were positive and productive, and we were able to discuss several of your claims and what we want to see in the next agreement.

We’re confident a revised classification structure will be achieved, and we’ve had some encouraging discussions about progression and career paths. The government has committed to providing us with draft classification descriptors that are based around our claim, but with some amendments, so we’re keen to talk with you as soon as we have those.

We made forceful representations about the cost of living and various inequities that exist in the current arrangements, and we’re confident the government negotiators understood how important relief for workers in Tasmania is.

The next meeting is scheduled for 18 August where we’ll be discussing workload, resourcing and other utilisation issues. It’s clear that all the parties want significant change and that’s a great start.

We’ll be out to talk to AHPs in workplaces over the next couple of weeks. For more info, please contact us on 1300 880 032 or assist@hacsu.org.au
